2006 was a year where we didn’t have much time for racing as work commitment’s got in the way but we however managed to compete in every round of the Dutch championship where we finished 5 th overall which considering we had a few no scores due to silly problems was a good result we felt.
Looking forward to 2007
After getting to know the Dutch circuit’s we have decided to concentrate on the Dutch championship again this year, we feel that we will be able to challenge for the title this year as we have more circuit knowledge which was a disadvantage last year.
We have upgraded the engine’s to the newer model R1 which is an 05/05 model which we tested in cartagena (Spain) in early December and was pleased with the amount of variations with the newer fuel injection mapping.
Since then we have been testing in Wales in march which was productive as we was not expecting to get any dry practise, but it was dry and we lapped the pembrey circuit over a second faster than we did in the previous meeting there which was in perfect conditions in the height of the summer still only using the standard motor as we got it from the breakers.
Following the pembrey test we have fitted a new fairing and have upgraded the rear suspension to the newest technology available.
We tested these at Mallory park last Wednesday afternoon early indications are very good but unfortunately due to work commitments we won’t have time to test again before the start of our season opening round at Hengelo on the 5 th & 6 th of may.
Which will leave us with a lot to try and learn about the shock and how to get the best from it, also this is a new circuit to us as the championship didn’t visit there last year. So we are hoping that thing’s go well for us there and we come away with some good points as to build on for the rest of the year.
