Headline News - Motorsport Arena Oschersleben - 16th - 18th May 2008
Round two of the championship took us to the technical Oschersleben circuit which we have been too so was the first track in the championship that we had already visited.
We had the settings for the bike from last year which we used but unfortunately we had an electrical fault in the very wet friday practise which we couldn't find, the problem continued in to saturdays qualifying sessions which left us down in 19th position and on the back row of the grid.. With the weather so bad in the qualifying and not being able to get full throttle as the bike would splutter under full load we was thinking what chance do we stand in the race... sunday morning warm up came and after a lot of work over night we had cured the problem but this left us no time to get any good race setting and also no time to scrub in new tyres so in the race we would have to use tyres from the test session at the beginning of the year.
In the brilliant sunshine the race got underway where we made a good start and then spent the rest of the race chasing down and over taking as many as possible. We ended up 10th but felt we could have got 9th if we only had two more laps as we was closing in on he the 9th place person by a second and a half every lap.
We are happy with he result after how the weekend started and look forward to the next round at nurburgring which is another track we have been too..

Runde 2 der Internationalen Deutschen Motorradmeisterschaft führte uns in
die Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, die erste Strecke der Meisterschaft, die
wir bereits kannten.
Wir übernahmen das Setup des vergangenen Jahres. Im verregneten
Freitagstraining hatten wir unglücklicherweise einen Defekt der Elektrik,
bei dem wir die Ursache nicht finden konnten. Das gleiche Problem zog sich
auch durch die Qualifyings am Samstag. Es war einfach nicht möglich Vollgas
zu geben, da der Motor im Vollastbereich nicht sauber lief. Dazu kam noch
das üble Regenwetter. Wir fragten uns, wie unsere Chancen für das Rennen
stehen würden. Mit Position 19 der Startaufstellung standen wir sehr
jedenfalls ziemlich weit hinten im Feld.
Bis zum Warm Up am Sonntag Morgen legten wir eine Nachtschicht ein, um die
Probleme an unserem Bike zu beheben. Aber uns lief die Zeit davon. Wir
hatten keine Möglichkeit mehr ein vernünftiges Setup für das Rennen zu
erarbeiten und neue Reifen zu montieren. Somit gingen wir mir alten Pneus an
den Start, die wir am Jahresanfang bei Testfahrten verwendeten.
Das Rennen am Sonntag Nachmittag fand bei brillantem Sonnenschein statt.
Unser Start war gut, wir begannen eine Aufholjagd und versuchten so viele
Konkurrenten wie möglich zu überholen. Wir beendeten den Lauf auf Platz 10.
Hätte das Rennen 2 Runden länger gedauert, wäre sogar Position 9 möglich
gewesen. Wir fuhren pro Runde 1,5 Sekunden schneller als unsere Vorderleute.
Wenn man bedenkt, wie das Wochenende begonnen hat, sind wir sehr glücklich
mit diesem Resultat. Vom 30.Mai bis 1.Juni bestreiten wir den nächsten
IDM-Lauf auf dem Nürburgring, eine Strecke, die wir ebenfalls schon gefahren
sind.
